DESCRIPTION:Jeremy DeBardi of Steel Beans is like a one-man White Stripes\, he’s blowing up on Twitter\, and he’s coming to a west coast venue near you soon.\n\n\n\n15 years after releasing his first album\, Jeremy DeBardi – leader of Steel Beans\, a band from Everett\, WA – is blowing up on social media\, thanks to a video that’s gone viral on Twitter. What is Steel Beans?Steel Beans is a multi genre group formed 15 years ago in North Everett\, WA. It has been an art collective with a revolving door of of nearly 50 members\, all like minded weirdos doing not only music but visuals/projections\, costumes\, theatrical bits\, improvisations\, comedy\, animation and other visual arts. Ranging from a solo act to a trio\, to a 10 pc. band with horns the band covers nearly every genre but generally leans heavy into 60s rock influences. Jeremy received worldwide recognition in October of 2022 for his solo act wherein he plays Guitar\, Drums and sings at the same time. \n\n\n\nWhy Steel Beans?The video in question\, for the enticingly titled Molotov Cocktail Lounge\, was first released a week ago on the Steel Beans Instagram account. The video was shared on TikTok\, then reposted to Twitter \n\n\n\nOn October 1\, and nearly 400\,000 likes later DeBardi has a whole new set of fans and enough financial support for his first west coast tour.  It’s easy to see why. It’s the kind of ferocious\, lo-fi blues racket popularized by The White Stripes\, but there’s only one musician involved. It’s the sound of the Jon Spencer Blues explosion with the look of Ron Jeremy\, as a mustachioed DeBardi drums and plays guitar simultaneously – beating out a rhythm and playing guitar on his strumming hand’s downstroke – while his shirt is open to the navel. It’s really quite glorious. The result of all this excitement is the kind of boost many hopeful musicians can only dream of: a tour free of financial concerns. On August 24\, DeBardis launched a GoFundMe campaign  in the hope of raising $7000 to support a tour of west coast cities\, and in the last few days donations have skyrocketed\, with funds rising to above $9000. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“I’ve emailed venues until the skin wore off my fingers and at this point I’d be happy on any slot\,” writes DeBardi on Reddit\, in an appeal for bookings. “My stuff is definitely very 60s rock\, but includes some 70s punk feel and some other genres along with some comedy and experimental strangeness. Tucson is blessed to have a world class band like Santa Pachita holding down the Old Pueblo in their punchy\, funky midnight movie style! \n\n\n\nCasa De Los Muertos DJ crew is responsible for the mobile DJ float in the All Souls Procession. They do the service of bringing up the rear of the parade on the route and creating a final ambiance that us undeniable. Interpreting the effects of the heavenly bodies upon our earth and selves as currents we ride to our destinies and fortunes. \n\n\n\nAncient rites from Greece to India\, guided generations through embodied journies to seek revelation and grounding. \n\n\n\n In 2019\, my daughter and I began evolving ideas for a workshop series that would take Astrology out of our heads and ground the information in our physical bodies.  \n\n\n\nWe were inspired by modern astrologers\, Caroline Casey\, Cayelin Castell\, author Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes and the Directorial and “Psychomagia” of Alejandro Jodorowsky.  \n\n\n\nWe used journaling\, drawing\, dancing and guided meditation to absorb abstract concepts and gain useful\, embodied knowledge about our relationships with planets and their energies. \n\n\n\nAstronomica evolved out of these conversations and exercises. \n\n\n\nWe invite you to this experimental theatrical presentation. For two weeks in May\, audiences will have a unique opportunity to be immersed in a personalized enactment of their star chart\, brought to life with stellar aerial and fire performance by Flam Chen.   \n\n\n\nOriginal Stage design by Paul Weir of Flam Chen sets the audience in a custom ”Star Cupola”  and light rig to transform the space as we travel between planetary aspects. DESCRIPTION:Flam Chen presents Astronomica  \n\n\n\nAn Embodied\, Interactive\, Performative Enactment of your Star Chart. \n\n\n\nDid you ever wonder how you could be dropped onto this planet with absolutely no instructions?  \n\n\n\nWell\, I have wondered\, even my IKEA Flitselvuger came with instructions… But not me? \n\n\n\nAstrologers have interpreted star charts that correspond to our dates of birth as guides or even personal instruction manuals for centuries. Interpreting the effects of the heavenly bodies upon our earth and selves as currents we ride to our destinies and fortunes. \n\n\n\nAncient rites from Greece to India\, guided generations through embodied journies to seek revelation and grounding. \n\n\n\n In 2019\, my daughter and I began evolving ideas for a workshop series that would take Astrology out of our heads and ground the information in our physical bodies.  \n\n\n\nWe were inspired by modern astrologers\, Caroline Casey\, Cayelin Castell\, author Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes and the Directorial and “Psychomagia” of Alejandro Jodorowsky.  \n\n\n\nWe used journaling\, drawing\, dancing and guided meditation to absorb abstract concepts and gain useful\, embodied knowledge about our relationships with planets and their energies. \n\n\n\nAstronomica evolved out of these conversations and exercises. \n\n\n\nWe invite you to this experimental theatrical presentation. For two weeks in May\, audiences will have a unique opportunity to be immersed in a personalized enactment of their star chart\, brought to life with stellar aerial and fire performance by Flam Chen.   \n\n\n\nOriginal Stage design by Paul Weir of Flam Chen sets the audience in a custom ”Star Cupola”  and light rig to transform the space as we travel between planetary aspects. Using classic theater devices and tactics developed from “Living Theater” as well as traditional circus physicality\, our talented performers embody and guide the audience through their star chart. \n\n\n\nAudiences can pay $50 to be in the Inner Ring\, closest to the action\, have their chart read and applied to the performance and be entered in a Lottery for a personal enactment of their chart. \n\n\n\nFor $20\, Another 100 people can observe from the Outer Ring and take part in the Generational Reading and Dance Party.

This is open to all ages and levels\, and is held in a playful and safe container to explore the first instrument – ourselves! Following\, the music will open with intentional ceremony and drop into deep earthy grooves as Poranguí sonically guides us through waves of ecstatic movement and blissful stillness. His partner\, Ashley Klein\, will sprinkle the musical set with some vocal guidance\, visualizations\, and meditations inviting our prayers and intentions into our dance.About Poranguí : Reared among the three cultures of Brazil\, Mexico and the U.S.\, Poranguí was steeped in various traditional forms of music\, healing and ceremony since birth. Drawing from his cross-cultural background and ethnomusicology training at Duke University\, Poranguí has over twenty years of international work experience as an artist\, musician\, educator\, filmmaker\, consultant and therapist\, utilizing the healing properties of sound and movement to foster our individual and collective well being.As a live looping artist and one-man orchestra Poranguí weaves ancestral songs and indigenous rhythms from around the globe.
