The Boneshaker Trilogy was created for the El Tour De Tucson International Bicycle Race in Tucson AZ. Each of the 3 stories was a segment of Papa’s life and times as the ring master of his mutinous circus. Each installation was an evening length performance with multitudes of guest artists and groups and a plethora of dazzling effects.See Details of each show HERE.
KABOOM is a live multimedia pyrotechnic theatrical performance created by Flam Chen and Adam Cooper-Terán, in collaboration with Bark Bark Bark, and Greathouse Labs. Three couch potatoes play KABOOM, a video game where players choose from sixteen warriors to battle one another across time and space. In the eighth fight one of the Couch Potatoes enters a secret code to unlock the game’s ultimate weapon, the Kali-Bomb. Unbeknownst to the players, the Kali-Bomb literally invokes the goddess Kali, who emerges from the television and brings about the end of the world.
La Profesia is a complete 14 in 1 sideshow created as a benefit performance installation. Acts included: Vampyrat, Flamestress Fara, Capt. Potato, Reverend Steve Strange, Sizzles the Strongman and the Monkey House twins, The Prophet Sophia, and of course (for those 18 & over) The Cooch Tent- to name a few. Original music performed by the wonderful Molehill Orkestrah.
Lucha de las Familias Gitanes (Part II of the Profecia installation)
Lucha de las Familias is a staged battle of 2 distinctly different gypsy families-One Spanish and one of lesser financial status from Eastern Europe. Represented by their distinctly different musical accompaniment-Molehill Orkestrah and Tesoro- 2 lovers from each side end up creating chaos that eventually leads to an actual wedding staged in the middle of the show. Inspired by our love of Emir Kusturica films.
Rites Ov Spring was one of our first Repertoire Shows-we recreated the concept entirely for a custom performance as a finale to the 2007 New Years Eve Parade in the border-town, artist enclave of Bisbee AZ. Not Breathing Composed and performed the music live. The All Souls Procession has become one of the more important festal culture events in North America today. Flam Chen and Co. have been an integral part of it since 1995. The Grand Finale of the All Souls Procession is a community based project built over 8-10 weeks with local artists, visiting directors and guest groups. The intention of the ceremony is to collect contents for The URN from 10′s of thousands of participants for the sole purpose of honoring those who have passed before us. It travels thru the 2 mile route to its final destination-to be completely consumed in flame.
