The 20th Annual All Souls Procession needs your HELP!
Hi friends!–The wheels of the upcoming season are moving faster then ever..We have lots of great opportunities and performances coming up in the next 4 weeks.
With the All Souls Procession looming we have much work to do to prepare for our communities yearly manifesto in action. This year we have to raise appx $60,000 to pull off one of the most inclusive public ceremonies in our region today. To do this takes participation from all fronts. We will be hosting 2 benefits in October
This year more then ever we are in a serious pinch and I implore every one to please contribute to this vastly growing non commercial festive ceremony that has grown so organically and powerfully over the last 20 years.

Our small part of the All Souls Procession-(the last 20 minutes of a 3 1/2 hour evening) -needs your help directly we have many hard costs which are not being covered this year by any existing budgets-it is with a prayer and hope that we can succeed in the ephemeral and fantastic culminating moment – with over 60 community members from ages 10 to 60 that have been working tirelessly for weeks to prepare a moment of beauty– that YOUR very attendance & march down the street as a community–makes real and authentic – It is WHY we do it..Its’ outcome is altruistic-Its intention is clear-Our motivation for involving 125 crew and performers and hiring of civic infrastructure, the insuring of streets-that weren’t built to be walked upon, teach free workshops 5 days a week for 8 weeks— is that– it is truly important to all of us as individuals and as a group mind.
From a small gathering at Susan Johnson’s Studio that spilled onto the street to a worldwide ceremony centered in the Sonoran Desert that tens of thousands participate in & many more globally have contributed something a prayer, a photo, a sculpture– as a dedication in the event. Tucson is one of the oldest inhabited areas in North America-the living still do not out number the dead under our feet-we dance on their bones each year-reverberating to the generations before us a sense of reverence and joy… We here at Flam Chen Industries- have considered ourselves guardians of the sacredness of this ceremony.
What we still need to purchase: Pyrotechnics $1400, Crane rental security deposit $2000, Balloons $1200, Sound $800, Lighting $900, Power Distribution $400, Helium $1200, Fire Safety $400–You can earmark your funds for any one of these specific needs and night of witness what you helped pay for happen and only this one time temporary art in action and a major contribution to your cultural landscape!
